Abstract The purpose of this book is to explain the construction, operation and care of the rotary-type valve in the hope that the young hornist will be encouraged to take the few minutes time needed for him to learn the skills involved in changing a broken string, lubricating bearings that are dry, or adjusting a valve to the proper position for the most effective passage of air through the instrument.
