| Biographical note | "Irwin Bazelon is a composer whose concert music has been performed by major orchestras has been performed by major orchestras and chamber ensembles. Included in this list are world premieres, conducted by the composer, with the Detroit Symphony, the National Symphony in Washington, D. C., and the Kansas City Philharmonic. Among his recordings (CRI label) are Symphony No. 5 (Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra conducted by Izler Solomon); Chamber Concerto No. 2--Churchill Downs; Propulsions--Percussion Concerto; and Brass Quintet (performed by the American Brass Quintet). He has also contributed music for many documentary and art films. Mr. Bazelon resides in New York City with his wife, artist Cecille Gray Bazelon, and his fifteen-year old Yorkshire terrier, Mr. Clem."--Dust jacket. |
