Abstract Mozart's Singspiel "Bastien und Bastienne" tells the story of two lovers, driven apart by jealousies but reunited by the soothsayer Colas; "Der Schauspieldirektor" tells of the difficulties of an impresario in dealing with his troupe of performers, especially in handling the rivalry of prima donnas.
