William B. Jarvis papers,

Scope and content The bulk of the collection consists of Bible records, genealogical notes, and newspaper clippings pertaining to the Jarvis and related families, including the Parker, Brooks, and Wallace families. These families are primarily from Pitt County; the Wallaces migrated to Colorado. Two items of particular interest are a cipher book (ca. 1822) and a photograph of the old sanctuary building of Memorial Baptist Church in Greenville, N.C., along with a commentary on the church. Miscellaneous items include a copy of a photograph of Dr. W. C. Abott; an issue of Agents Monthly, which was put out by the Monumental Bronze Company, and a clipping describing Dr. Charles J. O'Hagan and his activities at the State Medical Convention in Charlotte.
