Hair Stylist Andre Walker was born on October 19, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois. He received his diploma in cosmetology from Pivot Point Beauty School in 1977. In 1978, he served as a hair stylist for the Beauty Salon at the I. Magnin department store on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. In 1980, Walker began his own business operating as Andre Walker Salon until 1987. He joined Harpo Productions in 1985, to become the personal hair stylist to Oprah Winfrey, host of the syndicated daytime talk program, The Oprah Winfrey Show. Walker served in this role for Winfrey for thirty years through 2015. In 2013, he co-founded Andrew Walker Hair, LLC and partnered with Dianne Hudson, special advisor to Oprah Winfrey. In 2015, Andrew Walker Hair launched a new hair care typing system and product line for the care and management of naturally textured hair, "The Gold System.". |
