Biographical noteJohn Tillery Gregory (1832-1905) was a Superior Court Clerk from Halifax County, North Carolina. Gregory was married to Ellen Augusta Clarke, with whom he had nine children, and also operated a store with W. W. Daniels, was town treasurer, and fought in the Civil War with Co. G of the 12th North Carolina State Troops.
