Biographical note | Rear Admiral George Allan Holderness, Jr., was born in Tarboro, N. C., on November 10, 1900. He entered the U.S. Naval Academy in 1919, received his commission as an ensign in 1923, and served in a number of positions until his retirement in July 1958. Most of Holderness's positions in the U.S. Navy centered on shipbuilding or ship repair. |
