The collection consists primarily of official orders, commendations, and correspondence related to Captain Edward G. Miller's military service. Orders from 1941-1966 reflect Miller's service aboard various naval ships. Miller's commendations include two Bronze Stars received for duty in France (June 6, 1944) and during the Dominican Republic crisis. Official correspondence includes a 1964 report from Robert McNamara and reports that Miller wrote concerning various aspects of the 1965-1966 Mediterranean cruise of the U.S.S. Monrovia. |
