The majority of this collection is made up of genealogical notes on various Eastern North Carolina families, including photocopies of all or portions of published histories of Churchill, Tucker, Brown, Campbell, Frazier, Hardy, Hawks, Hearn, Jenkins, Little, and Sumrell families. The genealogical notes include marriage, birth, and death dates, extracts from federal censuses, cemetery records, copies of Bible records. and abstracts from deed and will books. |

| Biographical note | Levis Allen Churchill, the son of Levis H. Churchill and Margaret G. Evans of Pitt County, N.C., was born in 1931 and married Allie Rachel Little, the daughter of Lenard L. Little and Allie E. Allen of Pitt County, N.C., in 1949. |
