Letters from Confederate soldiers are from Camp Badger and Weldon, N.C., and discuss the yellow fever epidemic in Wilmington, personal affairs, and morale. Miscellaneous items include James S. Hall's petition to the Confederate government asking that he not be conscripted into the military; invoice of subsistence stores of Fort Fisher, N.C.; travel voucher; medical certificate of furlough; and loyalty oaths to the United States government. |
