Consists primarily of letters written to Raby during his service in World War I. Comments concern the purchase of war bonds; inflated cost of shoes, clothing, groceries, and utilities; and government restrictions on Sunday automobile driving. Of significance is a discussion of a Spanish influenza epidemic in Rocky Mount and Tarboro, N.C. Other topics include automobile prices and the availability of rides. |
