Scope and content |
Approximately half of the collection is correspondence discussing: World War I, World War II, farm life, and social life in North Carolina. Also included are: genealogical information, religious and medicinal pamphlets, receipts for payments, promissory notes, summonses, and chattel mortgages. One item that is not related in any way to the families covered by this collection is a travel journal kept by Mrs. John F. Nichols of Hampton, Va. while on a trip to Europe around 1928 or shortly thereafter. Mrs. Nichols records the people and customs she encountered on her travels. |
