Collection consists of groups of unrelated material. Correspondence from 1919 to 1936 concerns a family in Johnson City, Tenn., writing to family members in Kinston, N.C. Includes documents and correspondence related to a land prospect in South Dakota. Other correspondence concerns medicinal remedies; military affairs of the 2nd North Carolina Infantry; and illnesses, such as influenza, tuberculosis, diphtheria, and polio. Genealogical information concerns the Branson, Brooks, and Williams families. Other materials include written verification of Guilford Andrews as Bethel Town Commissioner; platform of Walter Clark for United States Senator; medical pamphlets by Dr. James M. Parrott of Kinston, N.C.; and a 1934 survey of Cumberland County, N.C. Also contains a general store account book for James Williams of Snow Hill, N.C; ledger books of J. T.
