Abstract In a rare interview at the Grand Chalet in Rossiniere, Balthus looks back over his long life; reflects upon his relationships with Picasso, Giacometti, and Rainer Maria Rilke; discusses his love for children; and reveals his feelings about aging, eroticism, and psychoanalysis. Magnificent shots of Bathus's paintings and comments by those closest to him -- his wife and son, recent and former models, friends and collaborators -- cast light on the artist as husband, father, and extraordinary man.
General noteDeveloped in association with Independent Image.
