The select-men of the town of Boston having received from William Bollan, Esq; authentic copies of letters wrote to the Right Honorable the Earl of Hillsborough, His Majesty's secretary of state, by Governor Bernard, General Gage, Commodore Hood, and others ... : do hereby notify the freeholders and other inhabitants of the town of Boston, qualified as the law directs, to assemble at Faneuil-Hall on Wednesday the fourth day of October next ... to consider and determine what steps are proper to be taken thereon--to choose a collector of taxes.
