General note | Nearly all the astronomical notes on the calendar pages, and the times of the moon's rising and setting, are identical with those in the Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia almanack for 1791 (Baltimore), probably by Benjamin Workman, who calculated the rest of the later issues in that series. The other calculations vary slightly for the most part, reflecting the difference in meridian between Baltimore and Philadelphia. Workman appears to have calculated all of Bailey's pocket almanacs through this year. |
