General note | "Subscriptions are taken in, by the booksellers ... and by the editor, Jack North-Wester, living at the sign of the White-Oak, in Heart-of-Oak-Street." Evans attributes the proposals and another pamphlet (Evans 10339), printed for the pseudonymous Jack Northwester, to Isaac Hunt, author of several political essays attacking the proprietary government of Pennsylvania. |
General note | Dated from inscription on recto of American Antiquarian Society copy: 1st of 8ber 1766. Ascribed to the press of Andrew Steuart, of Philadelphia, by Evans. |
General note | Although the proposals state that the whole will be published before the first day of October, 1767, there is no evidence that the work was ever issued. |
