Abstract |
Papers, consisting almost entirely of grants, deeds, and other indentures pertaining to land in the Swift Creek and Palmetto Swamp area of Craven County north of the Neuse River, center around several generations of the Butler family with activities of the Roach, Fornes, and Bryan families also reflected. Of particular interest is a testimony signed by New Bern attorney John Stanly (1812) and a Confederate retirement record (1864) for Private Charles C. Butler. |
