Further, it examines challenges faced by Afghans--including government officials, civil society organizations, and candidates--as they have tried to prepare for, observe, administer, and adjudicate elections. The report is unique in that it identifies lessons to inform U.S. policies and actions regarding electoral support. These lessons are relevant for Afghanistan, where the United States will likely remain engaged in the coming years, and for electoral support efforts in other conflict-affected countries. The report provides recommendations to executive branch agencies for improving such efforts, as well as matters for consideration for the Afghan government. 588 Description based on online resource; title from PDF cover (SIGAR, viewed September 30, 2021). 650 0 Elections |zAfghanistan. |=^A81671 651 0 Afghanistan |xPolitics and government. |=^A41451 650 0 Technical assistance, American |zAfghanistan |xEvaluation. |=^A3876 650 0 Democratization |zAfghanistan. |=^A409461 650 0 Postwar reconstruction |zAfghanistan. |=^A1006425 650 7 Democratization. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00890123 650 7 Elections. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00904324 650 7 Politics and government. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01919741 650 7 Postwar reconstruction. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01200084 650 7 Technical assistance, American |xEvaluation. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01144760 651 7 Afghanistan. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01205406 |?UNAUTHORIZED 776 08 |iPrint version:United States.
