With this abandonment, the symbolic language of early Jewish texts gives sharper contours to a pre-formal theology, a theology in which God and divinity are more subjects of experience and recognition than of propositions. This clarity leads the investigation to the conclusion that early Judaism is thoroughly mystical and experiences a theology which is neither polytheistic, nor monotheistic, but deificational: there is only one divine selfhood, the divinity of "God," but he shares his selfhood with "gods," to varying degrees and always at his discretion. With some important differentiations which are also introduced here, this theology undergirds almost the entirety of early Judaism-the Bible, post-biblical texts, and even classical rabbinic literature. The greatest development over time is only that the boundaries between God and gods become at once clearer and less rigid"-- |cProvided by publisher. 630 00 Bible. |pOld Testament |xCriticism, interpretation, etc. |=^A18034 630 07 Bible. |pOld Testament. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01808092 |?UNAUTHORIZED 648 7 To 210 |2fast 650 0 God (Judaism) |=^A93019 650 0 Judaism |xHistory |yTo 70 A.D. |=^A35270 650 0 Judaism |xHistory |yPost-exilic period, 586 B.C.-210 A.D. |=^A29065 650 7 God (Judaism) |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00944157 650 7 Judaism. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00984280 650 7 Judaism |xPost-exilic period (Judaism) |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01907049 655 7 Criticism, interpretation, etc. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01411635 655 7 History. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01411628 776 08 |iOnline version:Bunta, Silviu Nicolae. |tLord God of Gods |dPiscataway, NJ : Gorgias Press, 2021 |z9781463243340 |w(DLC) 2021035808 830 0 Perspectives on Hebrew scriptures and its contexts. |=^A1348340 949 Order on Demand |wASIS |hJOYNER219 960 |o1 |s114.95 |uJREL |zUSD 961 |fDMD |m138099 596 1 998 5719951
