Abstract Assessment of Physical Activity and Inactivity Using Wearable Monitors: Past, Present, and Future Directions features a presentation made in memory of one of ACSM past-presidents and one of the most prominent figures in the development of sports medicine and exercise science in America—D. Bruce Dill. The video provides a historical overview of the use of wearable monitors to effectively monitor physical activity. With regard to wearable monitors, the video looks at both the past (how lab calibrations began; limitations of cut-point methods) and the present (solutions using machine learning/pattern recognition); current tools; sedentary behavior assessment, as well as the future (what is in the pipeline; next steps).
