Series Biography
Abstract His prints and paintings are among the most recognizable images in the world. From his childhood struggles to his early death from alcoholism, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec's life is explored. Henri was at the epicenter of the Parisian "belle époque." The last in the line of a family who could trace their roots back a thousand years, he showed an early aptitude for art. But his life was transformed when he broke both legs in separate adolescent accidents. The bones failed to heal correctly, and his legs stopped growing. Deprived of a normal life, he devoted himself wholly to his arts.
