Biographical noteAlison Hearne Atkins is a graduate of East Carolina University (B.S. in Music Education 1952, M.A. in Vocal Performance 1961) whose career includes teaching voice at Fort Hays State University (Hays, Kansas) for 28 years, teaching at a private studio, performing operatic works, and performing and accompanying Scottish folk and art songs at Grandfather Mountain Highland Games in Linville, North Carolina, for over 40 years.
