Annotation Stewie Scraps and the Super Sleigh is one in a set of 6 stories for reluctant readers. The gripping, stand-alone storylines woven around the likeable, engaging main character, Stewie Scraps, appeal especially to boys. Stewie doesn't do sport. He hasn't got any time for sums or things like that, but he loves to design things. Stewie loves his dad's junk shop. But Miles Kingston-Brown, his new friend from school, is less than impressed. The only thing he doesn't turn his nose up at is an old pair of wooden skis. Then Stewie realizes that since Miles came along he hasn't come up with any new designs. Soon the skis give him an idea. "Look at my design," he tells Bugzy, his pet rat, "The Stewie Scraps Super Sleigh ... bet you can't wait! But what's wrong with the sleigh? Why won't it go anywhere? What else does it need? Where will the Christmas Magic come from? |
