Abstract This series, featuring archival footage, interviews and dramatic re-enactment, reveals the price pioneering women paid for their achievements and adversities they overcame to emerge as triumphant, inspirational icons of the 20th century. This documentary explores the life and career of aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart. Husband and publicist George Putnam capitalized on her adventurous spirit and girl-next-door personality to create a celebrity persona. She felt it was unmerited and set world flight records to prove her skill-ultimately leading to her untimely death while attempting to cross the Pacific.
