Abstract |
In this installment of the Frost/Nixon interviews, Nixon and Frost discuss the Vietnam War and the "war at home," in which dissent reached levels led Nixon to see domestic politics in war-like terms. Nixon argues throughout that domestic dissent threatened U.S. leverage at negotiations with North Vietnam, making peace more difficult to achieve. Therefore, he had to fight the dissent by any means necessary. He argues that his policies put us on the road to honorable withdrawal through the Paris Peace Accords. |
