||This episode of the U.S. Army's The Big Picture television series from the National Archives and Records Administration was produced for American forces and their families in Europe. The purpose of this film was to entertain, to inform, and to keep the soldiers and their families aware of all facets of their mission abroad. Newsreel in style, the footage was originally released in motion picture theaters, operated by the Army in Germany. This newsreel provides a reflection for the American people of what life was like for the soldier in Europe.
