Dough 520 3 In order to learn more about the classroom environment in physics classes in North Carolina, the Learning Environment Inventory was administered to approximately forty physics classes. This instrument is designed to measure the social classroom climate as perceived by the pupils within it. The Learning Environment Inventory contains fifteen scales such as Satisfaction, Difficulty and Formality, The main interest of this 3tudy was to compare the environment of students taking the Project Physics Course with that in the "traditional" physics courses. Computer programs were used to determine means for the scales and to compare data by use of the t test. It was found that Project Physics classes are considered to be less formal, less rushed, less goal directed, more disorganized, and less difficult than "traditional" physics classes in North Carolina. 504 Includes bibliographical references (leaves 50-52). 650 0 Physics |xStudy and teaching (Secondary) |zUnited States. |=^A1006652 650 7 Physics |xStudy and teaching (Secondary) |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01063134 651 7 United States. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01204155 |?UNAUTHORIZED 655 7 Academic theses. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01726453 655 7 Academic theses. |2lcgft 655 7 Thèses et écrits académiques. |2rvmgf |0(CaQQLa)RVMGF-000001173 655 2 Academic Dissertation. |0(DNLM)D019478 |?UNAUTHORIZED 700 1 Dough, Robert L., |edegree supervisor. |?UNAUTHORIZED 710 2 East Carolina University. |bDepartment of Science Education. |?UNAUTHORIZED 856 41 |zAccess via ScholarShip |uhttp://hdl.handle.net/10342/10131 949 Click on web address |wasis |hjoyner101 949 Click on web address |wasis |hhsl111 994 C0 |bERE 596 1 4 998 417798 998 417798
