Abstract |
Janice Latham grew up in a large family in eastern North Carolina. Family members and other interesting characters are chronicled as time is covered from the early 1900s through decades to the new century. Much occurs during that time as Janice tells the reader of the happiness and sadness, laughter and tears, and trials and tribulations of her life. Get to know Uncle Paul, a wise man in his own right who greatly influences Janice as a child; the humorous and very likeable Roger, the town drunk; and many other interesting characters who affect Janice's life. Travel with her and her family through the difficult Great Depression years, when bartering replaced money, to WWII, when she helped build liberty ships. Follow her struggles and successes through four marriages while raising three children during some difficult times. Through it all, Janice remains steadfast in her beliefs and tied to her Southern roots. |
