General noteOf this issue with the spelling "defence" on the title page and an "Erratum" on p. 28, the caption title appears variously as "A defence of the legislature of Massachusetts" and "A defense of the legislature of Massachusetts." Another issue (not in Shaw & Shoemaker) has the spelling "defense" on the title page and the erratum on p. 28, and a third issue (Shaw & Shoemaker 6134) has the spelling "defense" on the title page and no erratum.
