By the Honourable Richard Penn, Esquire, lieutenant-governor, and commander in chief of the province of Pennsylvania ... a proclamation : Whereas ... the Connecticut intruders ... have lately extended their unlawful possessions ... within this province ... I ... issue this proclamation, hereby strictly enjoining and requiring ... all and every person and persons, already settled, or residing on the said lands ... without the licence of the proprietaries, or authority from this government, immediately to evacuate their settlement ... Given ... at Philadelphia, the twenty-second day of June ... one thousand seven hundred and seventy-two.
