A proclamation : Whereas His Majesty has been graciously pleased to order a number of troops, under the command of the Honourable Lieutenant-General St. Clair, to proceed from Great-Britain to Louisbourg ... for the further encouragement of all voluntiers that shall engage in this service, it is provided, that they shall receive thirty pounds in bills of credit ... Given at the Council chamber in Boston, the second day of June 1746.
