General noteThe author is probably Jane (Harris) Dunlap, born in Milton, Mass., who married George Dunlap of Boston, Apr. 17, 1757. He died Jan. 7, 1771, and she married Deacon Jonathan Livermore of Northborough Nov. 16, 1775. "To the reader." places the death of the author's husband between Jan. 1 and Mar. 18, 1771.
