General note | Accompanied by 324 cuts on LIV plates, loose (in box originally?) with an "Advertisement" (8 p.), an alphabet "for cutting into single letters", a paper "frame on which to place the moveable letters, for spelling words", and another "for concealing the cuts till the names have been read"; lists of consonants and vowels to be combined. "A Dictionary, or, Index to a set of cuts for children" (1804) and booklets entitled "A List of nouns" (1804) and "The Book of nouns" (1804) belong with this or a similar set of cuts. cf. General note | Plates XXXVII-LIV were issued in volume with remarks, as "The Father's gift" (1804). |
