Scope and content |
The collection includes fourteen issues (1943-1945) of the Recognition Journal. The issues contain photos and articles on the latest weaponry, enemy tactics, recognition tips and quizzes, rescue operations, and rating information for all air and surface craft. A recognition manual (1946) and sheet (1945) issued to servicemen for spotting operations during World War II are also included in the collection, as well as a pamphlet on the N3N-3 biplane, UNC-Chapel Hill Navy flight school yearbooks (1942-1943), church bulletins (1946) from Oahu, Christmas Day menu, staff flyers from Kaneohe (1944-1945), and an article on the demise of the Japanese battleships MUSHASI and YAMATO (1945). |
