Collection contains a journal (1889-1897) of Robert J. Walker, a Duplin County, N.C., farmer. Walker recorded his day-to-day activities, including business transactions, such as the amount of meat, corn, and oats sold in a day; crop cultivation, including planting and harvesting; and daily weather. Also of interest are Walker's attempts to record his strong religious beliefs in everyday life and brief references to Farmers' Alliance meetings. |
