Scope and content The bulk of the collection contains genealogical information about the Hollinger, Greenawalt, Little, and Iseminger families. Included are birth and death lists, family group sheets, copies of Bible records, and histories of the Hollinger family. Of particular interest is a journal kept by three generations of the Little family. Entries by Margaretta Hofman Little concern the childhood illnesses and vaccinations of her son, Percy, as well as movements of the family from Maryland to Ohio and back to Maryland. Percy maintains the journal until 1898, giving descriptions of various jobs held, including teaching positions in various Maryland schools and peddling patent medicines. Percy also makes references to family matters including marriages, births, and deaths. An additional entry (1959) by Paul R. Little, son of Percy, gives information on places lived; vacations; relocation to Elizabeth City, N.C.; housing costs; public school teacher retirement pay; and pay as treasurer of Christ Episcopal Church in Elizabeth City, N.C. Other items include clippings, receipts, recipes, and financial records of the Rush E. Greenawalt estate.
