Biographical note | Since 1969, Greene Residence Hall has had the name Greene after Mary Hemphill Greene, who was one of five English professors at East Carolina University in 1928. When construction of Greene Residence Hall was completed in 1966, it became the tallest building in Greenville at that time. Greene was the first of three ten story high-rise residence halls built on west campus including White and Clement. |
