Biographical note | The LGBT Resource Office was initially conceptualized as East Carolina Unversity student Summer Wisdom's Master's thesis. It opened in 2011 in Brewster Hall. Wisdom ran the center as a part time employee until 2013 when Mark Rasdorf was hired as the center's first fulltime employee. Two graduate assistants were also hired at that time. In January 2019, the center was renamed the Dr. Jesse R. Peel LBGTQ Center and opened in the newly built Main Student Center. During 2019 Jessica Melowski became the center's second fulltime employee, replacing the two Graduate Assistant positions. |
