Abstract |
Chemist, artist, and author Grant D. Venerable, II was born on August 31, 1942 in Los Angeles, California. After receiving his B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1965, Venerable enrolled at the University of Chicago and graduated with his M.S. degree in physical chemistry in 1967, and with a Ph.D. in physical chemistry in 1970. Upon graduation, he was awarded the United States Atomic Energy Commission Fellowship for postdoctoral studies in radiation biology at UCLA's Laboratory of Nuclear Medicine. In the 1970s, he taught chemistry at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and University of California, Santa Cruz. In the 1980s, he served as a systems scientist in the Silicon Valley industry. Between 1996 and 2011 Venerable served as an administrator at Chicago State University, as provost at Morris Brown College, and as provost and senior vice president at Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. |
