This photograph album documents the typical tourist sites in 1895 in Washington, D.C., such as the White House, the Capitol Building, the Peterson House (where President Lincoln died), the Washington Monument, and the "new post office." Other photographs depict camping trips (with separate camps for men and women) and hiking in Virginia (Great Falls, Rock Creek, Colonial Beach), and at Harper's Ferry, West Virginia. July Fourth celebrations and steamboats on the Potomac River are also depicted. |
