A catalogue of a pleasing assemblage of prints, by the best masters. Some elegantly framed and glazed. A few books of prints : A small, but well-chosen library of books, many of them elegantly bound. The property of a gentleman. Together with about fifty lots of beautiful shells for cabinets; two ancient missals, on vellum, finely illuminared; a pair of excellent twelve inch globes, by Wright; a quadrant, in Wainscot Case, &c. Among the prints, are the views of the Sandwich Islands, in colours. In the books are Pindar's works, 2 vols. in Morocco; Cook's voyages, and life, 5 vols. Russia; Baskerville's addision, 4 vols. A catalogue of the genuine and capital collection of natural history, collected by that well-known connoisseur, the late Charles Chauncey, M.D. Fellow of the Royal Antiquarian Society, together with several curious articles selected by his brother Nathaniel Chauncery, Esq. deceased : Among which we a pleasing affortment of beautiful shells, some of them very scarce, particularly the orange gowry, and two elegant cups, formed of the nautilus shell, finely engraved and carved by C. Bellekin; a great variety of agates, mochos, jaspers, sardonyxes, crystals, gems, and other curious stones, remarkable for beauty or rarity; corals, petrifactions; uncommonly fine specimens of amber gum-copal, some of them inclosing insects; preserved birds, and numerous other productions of nature, together with the elegant mahogany cabinets and glass cases which contained them. Which by order of the executors of Nathaniel Chauncey, Esq. late of Castle-Street, Leicester-Fields. Will be sold by auction, by Mr. Gerard, at his house in Litchfield-Street, St. Anne's, Soho, on Monday, April 12, 1790, and the three following days, at twelve o'clock precisely. To be viewed on Friday, the 9th, and Saturday, the 10th from ten o'clock till three. A catalogue of pictures collected abroad by Mr. Edmund Glover, who is going to reside at Oporto : Consisting of several valuable painting by Old Palma, Castiglione, Guerchino, Rembrandt, Dominichino, P. Brill, Vandervelde, D. Teniers, Claude, Solimene, Bott, N. Poussin, &c. Also some curious bronzes: Which will be sold by auction, at Mr. Ford's great room in the Hay-Market, on Tuesday the 16th, Wednesdy the 17th, and Thursday the 18th of this instant March. -And on Friday the 19th, and the following days, - will be sold by auction, at Mr. Ford's, a collection of curious old Japan China, in jars, beakers, bowls, dishes, &c. several pieces of the brown edge, and some exceedings fine dresden. Rare old India Japan, in cabinets, chests, &c. beautiful inlaid tables; soem fashionable plate, jewels, watches, snuff-boxes, mathematical instruments, various curiosities, and rich lace heads of the newest pattern: likewise a chamber organ of an exceeding fine tone, two harpsichords, a chariot, &c. The said collections of pictures, China, &c. may be view'd at Mr. Ford's on Friday the 12th, and the following days till the time of sale, which will begin each day exactly at half on hour after eleven o'clock. A catalogue of the libraries of that learned antiquarian Nathaniel Boothe, Esq; and others, purchased since the harleian collection : Containing above twenty-thousand volumes, relating to the history and antiquities of all nations; amongst which are, the journals of the House of Lords, 105 vols. in manuscript. The votes of the House of Commons, 48 vols. The London, Gazette, 40 vols. The counties of England, 30 vols. Sir William Dugdale's works, 14 vols. Prynne's records and writs, large paper. The Greek and Roman historians, poets, and orators, of the most pompous editions; partcularly the louvre classicks; on royal paper, in Morocco. A set of the royal calssicks, in usum delphini, in 60 vols. in Morocco. The elzevir, and other fine editions of the classicks, in Moracco. A grand collection fo ancient missals, decretals, breviaries, natural historians, &c. all printed on vellum; illuminated with beautiful limnings; amongst the rest are Aristotle;s and Plato's works. The golden legend, with 178 prints, painted in lively colours, and raised with gold. The book of sports: or, The manner of hunting, &c. in Ms. with 65 large drwings, neatly illuminated. A very ancient Roman missal, in Ms. with beautiful paintings in every page. The Louvre councils, in 37 vols. in Morocco; and a large number of fine Bibles by field, and other eminent printers, with curious cuts richly adorned, several of them being presentation books to the crowned heads of England; particularly Q. Elizabeth, K. Charles II. and Q. Anne books of physick, surgery, anatomy, and natural history, with many of the ancient physicians. On account of the largeneess of this collection, there is a longer time than usual given for the sale, that gentleman, who live at a distance, may have time to peruse the catalogue, to see the particular books they have occasion for; which they may do every day (the books being in order) till the day of sale, which will be on monday, the 12th day of January, for ready money (only) the prices being marked cheaper than usual, in the first leaf of each book, at T.
